How was the butterfly theme carried through the whole setup rather than just one feature?
The motif appeared in three distinct places: a large laser-cut freestanding butterfly silhouette panel in dusky pink and mauve, small butterfly stickers applied directly to individual balloons in the garland column, and butterfly embellishments woven into the floral arrangement across the top of the backdrop. That repetition at different scales and heights meant the theme read clearly from across the room, not just up close.
What did the backdrop consist of, and how was it personalised?
The main backdrop was a shaped panel with a scalloped, cloud-edged top in dusky mauve and blush tones. It carried a printed gold crown motif alongside personalised text, giving it a finished quality that a plain fabric drape or a standard rectangular board would not have achieved. The freestanding butterfly panel was positioned to the right and slightly behind it, adding depth without crowding the centrepiece.
What flowers were used in the floral display, and were they fresh or artificial?
The arrangement was artificial and cascaded across the top-left corner of the backdrop. It included blush and peach roses, pink dahlias, blue and purple hydrangeas, and small blossom sprigs, covering enough of the backdrop's upper edge to frame it without obscuring the printed crown and text below.
How did the pastel and gold palette hold together across different elements?
The palette was built from pastel pink, baby blue, lilac, and dusky mauve, with gold used as an accent rather than a base colour. Gold appeared on the backdrop's crown motif and text, which grounded it as a considered detail rather than a general wash. The balloon garland used the same pastel tones in matte finishes and mixed sizes, and the florals echoed the blush and blue notes, so the gold read as a throughline rather than an afterthought.
